more views of Mossfield Stadium, the ground used by Oban Saints on many occasions,
from Jamie Wire

Saints
also use the facilities next door to Mossfield Stadium where Oban Lorne RFC can
be found (these changing rooms and facilties are
used by Saints). If Mossfield
Stadium is unavailable, a pitch known as Glencruitten Park (see below) is used,
and it can be found by going straight past Mossfield
Stadium to the very end
of the road. There is a fair-sized car park and an area of banking for spectators.

DUNOON AFC

Tom
Ferrie sends in this photo of Dunoon Amateurs' ground during the Cowal Highland
Games.
Two
photographs of Ropework Park, Lochgilphead taken in August 2009. This local authority
pitch is used by the main amateur team in the village,
Lochgilphead Red Star.
All of Argyll's mainland sides (Lochgilphesd Red Star, Oban Saints, Campbeltown
Pupils, Campbeltown Boys and Tarbert)
play in the Scottish
Amateur Football League.
VIEWFIELD ROVERS AFC
Mark Boyle sends in a number of pictures of Viewfield Rovers' ground, unusual for the Amateurs in that it is enclosed.
I also have here information he has provided.
Lochwinnoch's
Viewfield Rovers have been around since 1935, and tend to yo-yo between the Premier
and First Divisions of the
Caledonian League. They play at Viewfield Park,
and are one of the few amateurs lucky enough to have their own ground, rather
than merely renting from the council. Their colours are all royal blue, with
all red as their change colours.
They frequently take part in the Renfrewshire Cup, and they won the Scottish Amateur Cup in 2004.
Their ground,
although rather basic and tight at the sides, would put some in the Junior Leagues
to shame. There were also two floodlights
I could see at the south end - but
they was facing the opposite direction from the pitch! There is a decent pavilion,
and there is a small
amount of coverage, which would do about 20 people at
a pinch, as well as separate & very basic cover for the staff of both teams
on
either side.
No
idea as to whether there is any hot pies or drinks for sale within the ground,
but to be honest it wouldn't be worth the club's bother -
Viewfield Park is
a stone's throw away from the village cross, where there are two excellent cafes
and three pubs (as well as a bar and
restaurant at the railway station half
a mile away.)
There is
some room for expansion down behind the south end goal where the infamous downwards
slope begins if they were considering
building more shelter.
Lochwinnoch's
other amateur team, Calderglen, plays on one of the pitches at the often flooded
& sadly neglected Castle Semple public
park nearby, where the Lochwinnoch
Sports Centre (little more than a tiny two floor box for badminton & etc,
plus changing rooms for
the pitches) is also located.

Joe Crawford sends in four pictures of Bishopton Playing Fields, home to Bishopton Amateurs.
